Teacher Placement Service
Teacher Placement Service
In addition to preparing Princeton students for a career in teaching, we provide a placement service for any students and alumni who are interested in teaching in public or private schools. Interested individuals should contact Barbara McCormack at (609) 258-3336 to open a placement file that will be used to collect materials that will be sent to potential employers. Students using this service will also receive an electronic notification each month, listing job openings throughout the United States both in public and in private schools. When a student applies for a teaching position, his or her dossier is sent out from our office at no charge (there is a $25 annual fee to cover expenses such as postage and copying charges for alumni using this service).
During the year, the two placement workshops will be given to provide information on writing a resume, on interviewing techniques and on job search procedures. We also invite representatives from independent and public schools to interview on campus. Announcements about workshops and interviews are posted in The Princetonian and on the website of the Program in Teacher Preparation throughout the year.
